Getting in shape and trying to lose weight is a tough process with the help of a fitness boot camp helping shed pounds and trimming fat. If you have ever started a weight loss or exercise program and failed, you would not be alone. What is one fairly new program that is helping people all over the world shed pounds and trims body fat? If you mentioned fitness boot camps you would be right.

Oprah Winfrey, Naomi Campbell, Katie Holmes, Christina Applegate, Days Of Our Lives star and The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney, Natalie Raitano, Eliza Dushku, Desperate Housewives' Teri Hatcher and Nicole Sheridan are just a few of the many celebrities that have participated in Fitness Boot Camps to get in rock star shape. Many stars love the accountability and motivation of the group environment.

So what is a fitness boot camp?

A fitness boot camp is just an outdoor fitness class. They have grown so much over the last few years that you can probably find a fitness boot camp in your town.

Why are fitness boot camps growing so much, so popular, and helping people shed pounds and trim body fat? There a several reasons why fitness boot camps are so popular. The first reason would be because it is performed in a group. We all enjoy being a part of a group. The fitness boot camps are performed with a class or group of people. We all need emotional supports in different areas of our life. Having a group of people that help encourage, motivate, and inspire each other only helps the experience of getting in shape become more enjoyable.

Fitness Boot Camps are also much more affordable than most plans available.

If you wanted to hire a private personal trainer to get in shape, you would have to pay between $40- $100 per session. Many people are looking for a long-term plan and 12 sessions with a personal trainer would cost between $480 and $1200 for a month. You factor in 20 session, which is the amount of session a lot of boot camps are and you are running anywhere between $800 - $2000 for a month.

Fitness Boot camps range anywhere from $180-$399 a month. The amount per hour would range from $15-$25 per hour compared to the high prices for private training. Most camps have a very qualified personal trainer with experience with group settings. This gives the participant a personal trainer 3-4 months doing a fitness boot camp for what you would pay for one month with a private personal trainer. The participant really gets the best of both worlds. The camaraderie, encouragement, motivation, and inspiration of the group class and the affordable price of the group class.

Where can you find a local boot camp? One way you can find the available fitness boot camps in your area is to Google fitness boot camps in your town or area to find out if there are any in your area. You can also call your local fitness gyms or local city recreation gym to find out what type of boot camp programs are in your area. Make sure you do some research about the fitness boot camp. How long it has been running, the results, and the people who are in the boot camp are some key questions to ask.

As mentioned above, fitness boot camp usually have a high qualified personal trainer leading it. Many great trainers love being able to train many people at once because they love learning the new exercise, teaching wellness, and leading a group of people. It takes a special person to run a good boot camp program. Always check the background of the business and trainer running the program.

Find out how long the certified personal trainer has been leading the boot camp. With so many boot camp starting, there are probably a lot of trainers that are NOT qualified to help all the people in the fitness boot camp. I get a lot of people coming to the Get You in Shape Boot Camp that have been involved with other programs that the trainer was NOT qualified and they got hurt because of the poor teaching. A good way to find out is to ask for references, have an interview with the trainer, or just by looking at their website.

The last reason why fitness boot camps are so popular would be that they are getting results. If you are in a fitness and nutrition program and are consistent, the results will come. People are shedding pounds and trimming body fat and others are jumping in. People notice their friend has lost some inches, pounds, and body fat and want to get some of that. Referrals are a huge reason the my program (the Get You In Shape Boot Camp) has grown so much. I can not sell what a personal, living, breathing testimony from a participants mouth. Neighbors, friends, co-workers and family member all want to jump in on the action and shed their own pounds and trim their own body fat.

Fitness Boots Camps should be something you look into this season to help you get in shape. The growing popularity makes them available all across the country. Believe me, you will be amazed at how FUN the process of getting in shape can be.
