Psychology Of Weight Loss

By Hristo Hristov

"Change Your Thoughts Change Your Body..."

You see, many people think they will start exercise, start eating better for 1,2 or even 3 months, lose the fat and stop. You can lose 20, 30 or even 40 pounds of fat in that time, you can become stronger, you can build muscle, you can even get your body to the point that you like it the way it looks and feels. All this is not always the hard part, it is the easy part.

Here is an example: If you have been living a lifestyle A (not active and not eating well) and all of a sudden start living a lifestyle B (exercise and eat well), your body will respond to what you are giving it and you will start losing weight, looking and feeling better.

Now, later on from lifestyle B (exercise and eating well) if you go back to lifestyle A (not active and not eating well), your body will start responding to what you are putting it through. You will gain body fat, lose strength and energy, body will start hurting, it will lose functionality.

So now you see that it is not enough to reach a tangible goal, that is the easy part. Making it part of you, part of your life, part of your every day routine is the hard part.

Think about it. Do you ever sit and start thinking about going to work? Never. You are so conditioned waking up every morning brush your teeth, take a shower, get in your car etc. Those actions are as a result of a lot of physical and mental practice.
  1. Physical practice - doing it every single day for years
  2. Mental practice - accepting that going to work has to be done so you can live and support your family.
It is the same way with exercise and eating well. You not only have to do it physically on a regular basis but you also have to think about it with a POSITIVE mental attitude. That is the key.

Action Exercises
  1. Next time you start exercising make sure think about all the great things that will come out of you being on an exercise program: losing fat, becoming stronger and more independent, looking sexier, living longer for your family, have more self esteem.
  2. When you force yourself to eat some raw veggies, do not make faces think how bad it tastes, I want you to think about the great things that you and the people around will gain from you eating healthy. Soon you will see how they way you had been previously perceiving (thinking) exercise and eating well will be conditioned in your subconscious mind.
Your subconscious mind is not bios, it responds to what you are giving it. Is not that great, knowing how to control your mind therefore your destiny?

Your whole life is based on how you think. If you have positive and good thoughts, eventually very good things will be happening to your life and you will even be attracting people that you want to be like. If you have negative thoughts, you will attract negative situations, and people in your life.

The way you think has a direct correlation to your every day experiences and life as a whole.
