The Clothes Women Can’t Throw Away: Discover Top 7 Secrets To Lose Inches, Get A Better Body, and Back Into Your Sexy Clothes (Part One)

By Dale Andrew

As a fitness professional of more than ten years, I’ve trained and consulted with thousands of busy women that have wanted to lose inches and shape a better body. In fact, I think I owe this experience for most of the knowledge I now have about women. Of course, my wife would be the first to tell you that I still have lots to learn!

I’ve designed fitness programs for women of different shapes and sizes. Many have been busy professionals. Almost all have been busy moms.

One thing that just about every woman had in common was that they were holding onto clothes that just did not fit anymore – and it was a source of pain that made them miserable.

Here’s, my take on it.

I don’t think that the clothes themselves were anything all that special, although I could be wrong. It was what the clothes represented. Like an old song, these clothes took women back to a time a place where they had a better body, felt ultra sexy, confident, and happy.

All of a sudden, these clothes weren’t clothes anymore, and throwing them away just wasn’t going to happen. To throw these clothes away, most women would have to accept that what’s past is past, and what’s now is a bigger wardrobe, less confidence, and less joy.

But, who wants that?

Judging by the number of women that I’ve seen cry. Nobody.

These busy women that come to me for fitness advice, looking to lose inches and shape a better body, don’t want to buy bigger clothes…again. Actually, it’s the “fat” clothes (the ones that are on their back and not the ones buried in a box at the back of their closet) that they want to throw out, forever.

Hey, that’s what I do.

I help busy women lose inches and get into their sexy clothes again, while building a better body, confidence, and self-esteem. I take great joy in seeing women throw out their “fat” clothes. Meeting a woman that is not herself – one that looks at the ground when she talks - after she has tried everything to lose weight and failed, and then seeing that same woman lose 30-100 pounds and full of life a few months later…

It makes me happy.

Are you ready to make me happy?

Good. Here’s part one of my top 7 fat loss tips for busy women looking to lose inches and get back into their sexy clothes:

  1. It’s not about the numbers.
For many women (and men), the weight scale is an evil device. It tells you nothing about fat loss. Too many women are way too happy when they lose and way too sad when they don’t. I can remember one woman I trained. She had a goal of wearing a dress that she wore from 10 years ago – one that of course she still had. After dropping an amazing 85 pounds, she was still weighing in at 10 pounds more than she did when she last wore it. Looking for some motivation, she tried it on anyways – just to see how much more work she had left to do. To her surprise, the dress was actually too big for her! When you lose fat, you lose inches. When you gain muscle, you change your shape, dramatically.

  2. Women need to strength train.
Strength training isn’t going to make you big and bulky. In fact, it’s going to help you lose inches and make your body look better. Most busy women starting a fitness program, especially those lacking confidence, aren’t comfortable with weight machines. Instead, they head right to the treadmill or bike for a half-hour, or more. I understand it. But, it’s not how you quickly lose inches, or build a better body, for that matter. In fact, if you have not been exercising for a while, you need to first strengthen the muscles before your body can handle endurance work. Ignoring this point can lead to overuse injuries that can stop your fitness program in its tracks, and the weight gain that often goes with not being able to do anything is not a great bonus.

  3. Use interval training for cardio not aerobics.
Most women look like they are training like it’s the 1980’s. You remember - tights, headbands, big hair, little chrome weights and other crimes against society? Well, when it comes to quickly losing inches, long, boring, slow cardio is well a long, boring, slow waste of time. Interval training challenges is the most effective type of cardio that I’ve seen for helping women lose inches, and build a better body. If you’re not familiar with intervals, an interval is a short bout of exercise performed at a given intensity for a specific length of time. Each interval is separated from the next interval by a short rest or lighter activity.

In part two, I’ll cover four more of my top 7 fat loss tips for helping busy women lose inches and get back in their sexy clothes.
